TINY TIGERS: Ages 3-4
The Tiny Tigers program is a 5 week session of 30 minute classes held at various times through the year. This program gently encourages toddlers to join us on the mats while introducing them to martial arts through a variety of engaging activities that aim to improving their coordination, ability to follow directions, respect, and basic life knowledge such as counting, colors, right, and left. Students will gain exposure to standing "on guard" to protect themselves, basic blocking, yelling, and techniques for breaking boards. At the last class of each session parents are welcome to video their child as they are given the opportunity to break a wooden board! For this age group we keep a very small teacher to student ratio of 2:5 to provide students with the individual assistance and feedback needed. We keep the students as active as possible and try to minimize the amount of time they are waiting in line for their turn.
New students are welcomed into the class at the start of each new session. Students participate in class wearing a uniform t-shirt with black pants/shorts, and will receive a sticker at the end of each class that they participate in. Before moving students on to the next program, Little Warriors for ages 4-7, we look for signs of readiness such as their ability to follow directions, bowing as they enter/exit the mats, knowing where to line up at the beginning/end of class, ability to stand on guard, their understanding of waiting in line for their turn, attention span for a longer class time, etc.
Registration for our September session is open and nearly full! Go here to register.
